Walgreens Coupon Policy!!

Woohoo! Is it bad that I am excited over a coupon policy..lol For anyone who coupons at Walgreens you will understand. They are SO inconsistent with what they will accept. Now they have a coupon policy that just was posted today. I already printed mine. The best thing to do when you are couponing is to print out the stores coupon policy and take it with you. This way when the cashier tries to make up some off the wall reason they won't take your coupon just whip it out and say Um yes you can. :) I will include the link along with some other stores links. I keep them in my binder. The Target one gets used almost every time I shop there. I am so excited the Walgreens one says they will adjust the coupon if the item is less (good for those ones that are 1 penny under) it also says you can use 2 coupons for a BOGO item.

Walgreens

Target

Family Dollar

Walmart

Those are the ones I thought of off hand. If you need another check the stores site or A Full Cup on the store's forum. They usually have all of them.

Kroger

Well I went and picked up a bunch of stuff yesterday and today, but I was lazy and didn't take a picture. :( So I promise from now on I will stop being such a slacker..lol. I am planning on some major shopping this weekend..Target, Walgreens, CVS, Wal-Mart and maybe Jewel. I don't hit up Target, CVS and Jewel very often since they are about 45 mins away so I am hoping I will find a bunch of deals! I promise I will take pics and post them! I have been trying to ChaCha in any spare time this week so I have extra money in case I need it. And I won't spend any of the money needed for the house. :)

I also decided to go on a diet and I am going to try to do it with the point system. Today is my second day so we shall see. :)

Hefty One Zip coupon

I found a coupon for Hefty One Zip! Now you can get them at Kroger for only .50 each! I will be heading over there tomorrow! You need to "like" them on Facebook to get the coupon. It is for $1/2 ANY Hefty One Zip!! $1.00 is a great price to me, but now I am happy they didn't have any when I went!

Here's the link for the coupon.

Aldi VS Kroger

Alright I decided that I am going to go to these stores and get some prices for a few of the items people buy a lot. I am looking at the sales ads right now and of course Aldi doesn't have all that much. The reason I want to do this is because a lot of people think that Aldi is the best place to shop to save them money. Well I disagree. Of course there are some items that are cheaper at Aldi, but since Aldi doesn't take coupons the price you see is it. So I think I will put them to the test! If you can think of any products you want to see compared leave a comment. A few things I see just from the ad are:

1 Gallon Milk:
Aldi: $1.89!!
Kroger: $3.74 yikes

Refrigerated Biscuits:
Aldi (Buehler's Jumbo) $1.09
Kroger (Pillsbury Grands) .99 - .50/2 q doubled = .49 ea

Refrigerated Crescent Rolls:
Aldi: (Buehlers) $1.39
Kroger (Pillsbury Crescents) .99 - .50/2 doubled = .49 ea

Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls:
Aldi: (Buehlers) $1.39
Kroger: (Pillsbury) .99 - .35/1 doubled = .29 ea

Hand Soap
Aldi: (Source Skincare) $1.39
Kroger (Dial) $1.00 - .35/1 q doubled = .30 ea

Deodorant
Aldi: (Rainfresh) $1.89
Kroger (Arrid or Arm & Hammer) $1.00

Orange Juice
Aldi: (Nature's Nectar 59 oz) $2.49
Kroger: (Sunny D 64 oz) .79 - .25 q doubled = .29 ea

Frozen Waffles
Aldi: (Breakfast Best) $1.29
Kroger: Eggo $1.25 - $1/2 q = .75 ea

Alright I couldn't do that many because Aldi has such a small ad, but I am going to go to the stores and get the actual prices and we will do a comparison! As you can see from just the above ones you can get name brand items for cheaper then Aldi brand items! But get your milk from Aldi...lol

Kroger Trip 8/16

This isn't really that great of a trip. I just wanted to show you how a Catalina deal works. Also how you sometimes have to improvise at the store. Right now Kroger has a catalina deal running when you buy $25 worth of Energizer products you get a $5 catalina. Now when I hear Energizer all I think is batteries. Well turns out there are a lot of products. Including Schick. I will list the participating products at the bottom. Well the 3 blade Schick Hydro razors are $5.12 at my store. The 8/8 SS had a coupon for $5 off Schick Hydro razors. So even without the catalina .12 is a pretty good price for a razor! Now when I went there were only 4 of the 3 blade razors left and the 5 blade is $6.22, but still after the coupons and catalina it's a great deal!

Here's what I got:

2 Kroger brand 2 L's .68 ea

2 Kroger eggs .88 ea

4 Schick Hydro 3 blade $5.12 ea - (4) $5 q's = .12 ea

1 Schick Hydro 5 blade $6.22 ea - $5q = $1.22

-$3.50 cat and $2 cat from previous orders

Total: $1.44 ($2.12 is tax) so I paid less than tax!! woot woot 101% savings

AND I got a $5 catalina to use on another order!!

So the good thing with catalinas is they are a great thing to use on the products you don't usually get coupons for! Now if you have enough coupons you could turn around and buy more razors with other products and use that $5 cat and still get another one! I ordered coupons from Ebay so hopefully my store gets more in stock!!

Here are the other items included in the catalina...remember the $25 you need to spend is BEFORE coupons!!!

Energizer Products (not just batteries! see list below)
Between 8/8/10 - 9/30/10

Buy $25 worth, get $5.00 back

Participating Energizer Products include:
Schick - all Schick products
Energizers - all Max Batteries
Playtex - all gentle glide and sport Tampons
All Infant products......(huh?)
All Banana Boat products
All Wet Ones products
All Hawaiian Tropic products
All Edge/Skintimate products

(Thanks A Full Cup)

Binder Organization

Remember when I told you guys that a great way to get some ideas is to watch videos on Youtube? Well that is what I was doing tonight. I am always looking for better ways to organize this stuff! Well I saw one tonight that was a pretty good one. Most of them are all the same or they just annoy me how they talk or do stuff..I know that is probably bad to say, but hey I'm just being honest lol. If they annoy me I can't watch the whole video. I really need to go buy a new binder. I use 2 right now. When I first started out I only had one, but I decided to split up the food and non food. I use baseball card holders to hold my coupons. Well this lady used insert cards in the pockets so that she could have both sides used for coupons. I am thinking I am going to start doing that, because that would make me use a LOT less baseball card holders which would make my binder not as fat..lol

I really want to get one of the zip up binders with the pockets in the front too. I will post a link to the youtube video I was watching and you will see what I mean. Of course some of the things I do are different then her, but she gave me some ideas :) Maybe I should make my own video...lol jk

Here's the link

So how do you guys organize your coupons? Share in the comments section!!!

Starting Out Revisited

I thought it might be a little easier for some of you if I put all of the links to my starting out posts in one spot. I have been slacking lately, but I will add some more stuff. I will try to explain Walgreens and rolling next. It's a little too late tonight to tackle Walgreens..lol These are just a few things. Remember it may seem overwhelming at first, but after awhile it will be like second nature. Don't get discouraged. When I first started out my out of pocket expense was not as low as it is now. Once you get a stockpile you will start spending less, because you won't need as much. Remember any savings is good savings! If you have ANY questions don't be afraid to leave a comment or email me...morefree4me@yahoo.com.

Kroger Trip 8/12

Woohoo the new Mega Sale started today! I will post some of the good deals later. They were already out of the Bumble Bee tuna! I hate when they run out of something the first day...work gets in the way of my shopping...LOL OK the way the Mega Sale works is you buy 8 participating items and they take $4 off at the end. So it is technically .50 off each of the 8 items. So when I list the prices below they are after the .50 is taken off the item. I will put a * by the mega sale items.

Here's what I got:

1 Betty Crocker Cake Mix $1.00

2 Gardetto Snack Mix $1.49*ea - (2) .50 q's doubled & (2).50 ecoupons = free

Total Savings: $62.91 or 92%

Kroger Trip 8/11

Last day of the P&G sale was yesterday so I had to run over there and pick up a few last minute things. Now you won't always get things free. Well I guess you could if that is all you wanted, but if you are like me you have certain brands you like, and if you can get them for cheap then you get them. Everyone should make their own decision on what is a good deal to them. When you coupon you shouldn't be a "brand snob" but that doesn't mean you can't have stuff you just like better!! lol My favorite hair stuff is Aussie. I've used it forever so when I can get a good deal I jump on it. Another item that is hard to find for free is toilet paper. So when I see a good deal I jump on that too..lol I will put a * by the P&G items. Ok here's what I got:

1 16 pk double roll Charmin Toilet Paper $5.99* - .25 q doubled & $3 ecoupon = $2.49

1 Febreze Air Effects $1.50* - $1 q = $1.50 (should have had a $1 ecoupon, but it didn't come off) :(

3 Revlon Emery Board packs $.94ea - (3) $1 q's = free + .06 overage each

3 Aussie Shampoo & Conditioner $1.99 ea

3 Aussie Styler products $1.99 ea - (3) free wyb shampoo or Conditioner q's = free
Now of course it didn't just work out like that. The cashier took $2.99 off for each coupon since that is the price b4 mega sale so for all 6 I actually paid: $2.97 or about .50 each

Total : $7.95 ($2.17 is tax)

Total Savings: $32.68 or 84%

Binder Method and Expired Coupons

I just thought I would share with you guys one of the things I hate about couponing. Expired coupons! I know we can't use them all, but I hate to have to get rid of them!! I thought I would take a picture of all of the ones I took out at the beginning of this month...yes I'm a slacker and just now getting around to posting it..lol I also showed all of the baseball card inserts I was able to take out once all of the expired coupons were out.

Now keep in mind I got rid of all of these, but it was the same weekend we got 4 inserts. So with the 9 papers I bought that weekend it was filled back up pretty quick!!

Sunday, August 8, 2010

Kroger & Inserts

Well I definitely messed up this time. I waited until the last day of the 50% off sale at Kroger. They were out of pretty much everything. The main thing I wanted was the Nature Valley Nut Clusters. I LOVE those and they are usually way too expensive. Well they were completely out. They were also out of the Chex Mix bars which are so yummy! Next time they have one I'm going the FIRST day...don't let me forget!! :)

Good news is there were 3 inserts in my newspaper today so I hope everyone else got them too!! One of them was just the General Mills, but I think that is the one the other blog was referring to as the second Smart Source. Of course it had $1 Nature Valley Nut Cluster coupons that I cut out and headed over to Kroger with...:(

Kmart Doubles No Go Here

Well I went over to Kmart today, and they didn't have signs up anywhere for the doubles. I decided I would try it anyway since they emailed me. Well I spent all that time trying to find some things..there wasn't much anyway. AND none of the coupons doubled. So once I saw that one didn't double I told her to just give me my coupons back I didn't want any of it. She was shocked..lol..she says "You don't want anything?" I felt like saying "Sorry honey I don't pay full price..lol" but all I said was if they aren't doubling I don't shop there :) There prices are way too high.

I hope everyone else has better luck!!

Kmart Doubles Match Ups

I got the Kmart ad in my paper today so I decided to go through it and see if I can find any match ups from the ad. I will go tomorrow and try to find some more, but these are what I see for now. Remember prices may vary by stores and it is up to you what you think is a good price :)

Edge or Skintimate Shave Gel $1.99 - .75q doubled = .49 ea

Expo Dry Erase Markers 4pk $2.00 - $1q doubled = free

Pilot Pens 2-3 pk Easy Touch Pens $2.00 - $1q doubled = free

Xtra 68.75 oz Laundry Detergent 3/$8.00 ($2.66 ea) - $1q doubled = .66 ea

Downy Liquid Fabric Softener 64 oz 2/$6.00 - $1q doubled = $1.00 ea

M&M's 9.9-12.6oz 2/$5.00 - $1 q doubled (if Pretzel M&M's are included) = .50 ea

Orville Redenbacher's 6-10 pk popcorn 2/$5.00 - $1q doubled = .50 ea

There is something above the ad for the Orville and M&M's says wyb them together you get an extra coupon for $1.25 off. I don't shop Kmart except for doubles so I am not positive what that means. I will find out tomorrow when I go. If the coupon comes off automatically they will be free! (with the other coupons)

Kmart Doubles Are Back

Well another round of Kmart doubles. Only this time it is only up to and including $1.00 coupons. :( I'm not sure if this will make for many good deals or not. Sunday August 8 - Saturday August 14.

Limit of 5 coupons Doubled per day. Have to be a Shop Your Way Rewards Member. If you are not a member click HERE to join.

Click HERE to see if your stores are participating.

I don't see any limits saying it is only Health & Beauty in my email and I saw on another site it should be anything! Hopefully we can find some good deals even if it is only up to $1.

Once Sunday gets here I will head over there and see if I can find anything good. Remember you guys can always leave a comment if you come across some good deals!!

I don't even see my store on the list of participating stores. Last time that happened with the up to .99 doubles event my store WAS participating. There were signs all over the store. So even if your store is not on the list you could head over there or call and check (of course we all know how well Kmart is in the know) lol

YouTube

I just wanted to post a little tip. When I first started out and I wanted to see some ways people cut their coupons, organize them and organize their stockpiles I looked on YouTube. If you just search "couponing" you will find a ton of videos! There are even some of people shopping and getting their totals down really low! Another thing I searched was "coupon organization" and "stockpile" this is a great way to actually see how people do it!!
